Bell Canyon Napa Reserve Red Blend 2012
Winemakers Notes:
This is the first Reserve ever made by Bell Canyon Cellars and appropriately it is for the outstanding 2012 vintage. This spring I met with the highly regarded owner of this marquee Napa property located at the base of Howell Mountain. The family has been making wines in Napa since the early 70s and their wines are well made, complex and full of character. This Napa Red wine is a blend of primarily Syrah, with Grenache, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. It is from two of the family’s Estate Vineyards and most of the fruit is from their benchland property in the Oak Knoll appellation of Napa. Already drinking well but since it was bottled in June 2014, give this outstanding value wine a little time. The fruit is big and bright with black cherry, blueberry, vanilla oak, red flowers and licorice with chocolate, and a spice box. 1,150 cases produced. Pair with steaks on the grill, pulled pork sandwiches, brisket, London broil and hearty chicken dishes.
this wine is a red blend of Syrah (50%), Malbec (18%), Grenache (15%), Petit Verdot (15%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (2%), so here goes nothin
