I’m counting down the days until strawberry picking opens in our area. I think I have to only wait a couple more days and then I’m off with my baskets and picking fingers to the fields! I love fresh berries more than anything. More than mac & cheese and a bottle of wine. It’s true. And obviously the first recipe I’m cooking up afterwards is a strawberry shortcake! Dreaming of my first shortcake of the season got me thinking: wouldn’t it be amazing if you served strawberry shortcake in a jar for dessert at your wedding? Or a “make-your-own” strawberry shortcake bar? I’d be first in line.
